Where to eat a crêpe in Groix

The crêperies in Groix are an unmissable stop.

Groix is a small island in the southern Brittany region. The mere mention of the word "Brittany" surely brings to mind Breton crêpes and galettes. Currently, there are six crêperies on Groix, out of a total of about fifteen places to eat. Breton galettes naturally hold a special place on our little island in the Ponant archipelago!

A crepe on your walking route?

Le Bourg and Port Tudy hold a virtual monopoly on crêpes in Groix. However, La Baraque à Crêpes de l'Ecurie has carved out its own niche by opening a small, welcoming terrace in the village of Kerlard. Usually a thoroughfare for cyclists and hikers, Kerlard is now the perfect stop for a midday meal! Jannick will prepare excellent galettes for you throughout the spring and summer. If you had to choose just one crêpe? The galette au Lard des Thoniers, without a doubt.

The crêperies of the unmissable village of Groix

The town center is the island's main hub. A true epicenter of economic activity, it boasts numerous restaurants. In fact, there are four crêperies there, each offering something for everyone! At the far end of the town, on the road to Créhal, you'll find the Kreiz Ar Mor crêperie.

While on the road leading north on the island, just past the large parking lot, you will come across Sandrine's crêperie. She will welcome you to her former shipowner's house, where you'll feel right at home. There, you can enjoy delicate galettes filled with local products that Sandrine will have carefully selected.

In the heart of the village, you'll find La Chaloupe, with its terrace, which also serves as a bistro. Further along the center, on the church square, is La Crêperie des Îles. A must-visit, this crêperie offers the chance to create your own Breton galette or order traditional dishes. La Crêperie des Îles also has a charming upstairs dining room and a small terrace.

Finally, it should be noted that the crêperie La Maison has closed its doors to become a bed and breakfast.

Start your stay off right with a galette in Port Tudy

We could have started with Port Tudy, the first stop for any traveler on the island of Groix. However, we wanted to save one of the best crêperies on Groix for last: Au Repos de la Montée! As its name suggests, this establishment is literally located at the beginning of the climb from Port Tudy leading to the village. You can enjoy your galettes in a lovely dining room with wood paneling or on the garden terrace when the weather is fine.

Furthermore, the driftwood lamps that you will find on the tables were made by Gwen-Art from wood recovered on the beaches of Groix. Gwen-Art is a charitable association project for the association Un Espoir Pour Yanis.
