The Great Sands
The largest beach of the island of Groix, With views of the mainland, Grands Sables, known for its convex shape, has moved away from the VVF beach and closer to Port Mélite. You can enjoy its fine sand and water sports during the season. Bring your volleyball; the flat surface of the beach is perfect for games! Finally, this famous Breton beach is supervised during the season.
Poullziorek (Tahiti Beach)
Of Groix's beaches, this is the northernmost on the island. It is located just before the village of Quelhuit and not far from the Pen Men lighthouse. Poullziorek, often called "« Tahiti beach«" , is located at a small cove that is relatively difficult to access and inaccessible at high tide. However, at low tide this small beach with white sand and turquoise water gains all its "Tahitian" charm.
Porh Koustic
Full of charm, Porh Koustic is nestled between Pointe des Chats and Sables Rouges. You're sure to have a wonderful time with family, friends, or your loved one. Furthermore, at low tide, a mysterious sand passage appears on the right, offering a view of Pointe des Chats.
Kermarec
Located to the right of Locmaria beach, this small, secluded cove with white sand enjoys sunshine all day long. Kermarec is therefore an ideal beach for relaxing and soaking up the wild beauty of Groix Island! Our favorite.
The Hénoz Coast
The beach on the Hénoz coast, at the foot of the cliff of the same name overlooking Port-Tudy at the breakwater, is ideal for relaxing after lunch at the port. Discreet yet welcoming, it's one of Groix's beaches that offers a lovely panorama with the surrounding rocks.
Red Sands & VVF
The Red Sands could be said to be subdivided into several small beaches on Groix. To the right, the beach forms a semicircle of ochre-colored sand. To the left, the beach commonly known as "VVF beach" is friendly and quite busy during the season. The more adventurous can also explore the rocks and discover the old, abandoned lifeguard hut of Grands Sables.
Locmaria
Locmaria beach borders the village of the same name and has numerous boat moorings. Bathed in sunshine, this beach is easily accessible and supervised during the season. You can enjoy terraces overlooking the beach and rent water sports equipment in the summer. Finally, in mid-August, the beach hosts the Locmaria Fire.
Porh Skeudoul
This pretty beach nestled in a cliffside hollow is accessible from the coastal paths between Port-Tudy and Port Mélite. Sometimes nicknamed "Auberge Beach" because it's a 5-minute walk from the Groix Youth Hostel, Porh Skeudoul offers peace and relaxation.
Port Mélite
Located at the end of the Port Mélite road, between Porh Skeudoul and Les Grands Sables, this family-friendly beach on the island of Groix has a sailing club and lifeguards during the season. The beach is also close to a large car park (useful for accessing Les Grands Sables) and a snack van.
Moreover, for those who are more curious, other beaches are hidden on the island of Groix. Stank, Porh Melin, Baie des Curés… You're sure to discover them during your walks along the coastal paths.
We talk about the beaches of Groix, but also about other activities to discover in a day in our article which relates a summer day in Groix.
